  • Lunar Trailblazer Launches to Map Moon’s Water
    On February 27, 2025, NASA launched the Lunar Trailblazer satellite aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9. This small probe will map lunar water, focusing on permanently shadowed craters at the poles—key for future exploration.

  • Athena Lander En Route to Moon
    Intuitive Machines’ Athena mission launched on February 26, and is set to land near the Moon’s south pole on March 6. It will search for water and test the hopping drone Grace.

  • Blue Origin’s All-Female Crew
    Blue Origin announced an all-female crew for its upcoming New Shepard mission this spring, featuring Katy Perry, Gayle King, Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyen, Kerianne Flynn, and Lauren Sánchez.

  • Blue Origin’s sent tourists to the edge of Space
    On February 25, Blue Origin’s sent a tourism flight to over 100 km above surface. Although this is not something new, in Spain (where I live), it made great news, as it carried the 3rd ever astronaut from Spain, Jesús Calleja.

  • February 28, 2025: Seven-Planet Alignment – A rare celestial event where Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune align in the night sky. While Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn will be visible to the naked eye, a telescope will be needed to observe Uranus and Neptune. The best viewing time is shortly after sunset.
    I’ve written a short post explaining in detail everything you need to know, to now miss this once in a lifetime event.

  • February 28, 2025: Progress MS-30 Launch – Russia's Roscosmos is scheduled to launch the Progress MS-30 cargo spacecraft to the International Space Station. The launch is planned for 21:24 UTC from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

  • March 3, 2025: SpaceX Starship IFT-8 – SpaceX plans to conduct its eighth Integrated Flight Test of the Starship system from Boca Chica, Texas, with the launch window opening at 6:30 PM ET.

  • March 6, 2025: Athena Lunar Landing – Intuitive Machines' Athena lander is expected to touch down near the Moon's south pole, aiming to explore for water and test new technologies.
